The Ironbridge Half Marathon is to go ahead tomorrow

2013 Ironbridge Half Marathon...

We are very pleased to inform you that The Ironbridge Half Marathon is to go ahead tomorrow, Easter Sunday 31st March 2013, 10.30am start, at the Telford Town Park Arena.

Note that the clocks go forward an hour, so please change your clocks tonight before you go to bed!

For your enjoyment, expect to see sunshine, lots of smiley faces, patches of snow and mud as you run. – This is not a PB course! So enjoy the views and soak up the atmosphere.

As temperatures drop tonight there is as chance of small patches of ice forming, The Sun may not clear these in time for the run so need to be treated with caution. (Walk if needed or run on the grass to the side)

Located within ‘Rough Park’ section of the course is a small tree that has fallen over, which you can easily step over.

If you don’t like to get your trainers muddy then you will be able to transfer your entry to our 25th Anniversary Race next year.

Race entries WILL be taken on the day, please arrive at 9am to register.

Thank you for supporting our event and for your patience and understanding

Enjoy your run; we look forward to seeing your smiles this Sunday.

Yours in Sport … and …not so stressed now!

  1. The race is on for tomorrow, Easter Sunday. I feel so cheated!!! The organisers didn't even bother to send an email. I'm not sure if they are aware that over 2million people in the UK go on holiday over Easter. Plus majority of the runners run half marathons only for PBs. So running on ice plus to run over a tree that they said has fallen over one of the path is totally unacceptable!!!

    1. Well andrene. After now completing this treacherous coarse I have to agree it was UNACCEPTABLE! Not one tree but 4! I should have brought my mountaineering gear and chainsaw to get past this mere sticks! And heaven forbid, there was even a puddle which got my poor little toes wet. It was hard at times to Carry on but I had to dig deep, and on the anniversary that Jesus rose, I rose with him! God bless every runner, we r brave souls!
