Final Push for Club Volunteer Marshals for our 25th Ironbridge 1/2 event - Sunday 6th April 2014

Sonia Edmonds, is collecting names of those willing to assist with marshalling duty in the BUSCH UK Ironbridge 1/2 race - Sunday 6th April 2014.
Please see Sonia or another member of the Sub-Committee on a club nights.
All marshals will receive a ‘goody bag’ as a token of the Clubs appreciation of your efforts in making the day a success for everyone.
As in previous years any members competing in the 1/2 are asked to supply a relative or friend to stand in.

The Ironbridge Half Marathon is to go ahead tomorrow

2013 Ironbridge Half Marathon...

We are very pleased to inform you that The Ironbridge Half Marathon is to go ahead tomorrow, Easter Sunday 31st March 2013, 10.30am start, at the Telford Town Park Arena.

Note that the clocks go forward an hour, so please change your clocks tonight before you go to bed!

For your enjoyment, expect to see sunshine, lots of smiley faces, patches of snow and mud as you run. – This is not a PB course! So enjoy the views and soak up the atmosphere.

As temperatures drop tonight there is as chance of small patches of ice forming, The Sun may not clear these in time for the run so need to be treated with caution. (Walk if needed or run on the grass to the side)

Located within ‘Rough Park’ section of the course is a small tree that has fallen over, which you can easily step over.

If you don’t like to get your trainers muddy then you will be able to transfer your entry to our 25th Anniversary Race next year.

Race entries WILL be taken on the day, please arrive at 9am to register.

2013 Ironbridge Half Marathon... is to be rearranged

Our ‘spring’ outing in the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge is to be rearranged – We are trying for the 14th April 2013. – This is subject to confirmation from Telford Town Park.

This is the result of further snow overnight and the icy conditions forecast. (lots of the course now has over a foot of snow)


As a running club event, we value ‘group’ participation and lots of our runners would be traveling from further afield from all parts of the UK, more so this year as a result of our race being featured in Runners World. Hence our decision to rearrange has been made now.


We also have to consider our volunteers and their friends and family that make such a contribution to the success of our event.


I’m sure you appreciate our focus is organising a new date for you, therefore any e-mail enquires will take a little longer to be replied to at this time.

2013 Ironbridge Half Marathon UPDATE

We will be reviewing our options on Saturday as we lay out the course and we will provide another update at 12 noon on Saturday both here and by other social means . We will be reviewing all options. Thus far in Telford the snow is thawing.
